Project Overview
Lydon is an established construction company building homes in Ireland for almost 50 years. Known for the quality of their work and with a strong reputation in the market, they had a solid standing with clients and partners. However, despite their longstanding success, they lacked a digital presence, with no brand identity, website, or online profile.
A Strategic Evolution in Brand Concept and Identity
Recognising the need to develop their brand presence, Lydon approached Idea to help them create a clear brand strategy, vision, brand identity and also to establish a strong digital footprint.
Uncovering key values and strengths
Our process began by conducting market research to uncover Lydon's key strengths, values, and position in the marketplace. This provided valuable insights into the essence of the business, revealing a company that is brave, well informed, trusted, resilient and above all, family-oriented. Lydon was seen as a genuine, humble, hands-on company with a wealth of industry experience and a no-nonsense approach. As a family-run business with four Lydons leading the way, it was crucial that their brand identity reflected their heritage, commitment, and ambition to grow.
Lydon - From our Family to Yours
After exploring a series of naming and branding options, we determined that the Lydon name held significant value. It was recognised as strong, respected, and reflective of the company’s family leadership. Embracing the name made sense, allowing us to build on the trust and recognition that the Lydons had already earned in the market.
We developed a brand identity that positioned "homes" at the centre of Lydon's work, while also capturing the progressive and forward-thinking nature of their business. We then worked on how to communicate their vision and values across all touchpoints.

A Digital Presence
We worked on a structure and vision for a website that would showcase their projects, expertise, and company values, making it easier for potential employees and partners to both understand and connect with them. Photography of the team in action, on-site and in the office really captured their approachable nature and hands-on approach, we put the people on their team to the fore. We also worked with the team to ensure that their new brand identity, colour palette, imagery and visual language was reflected across all of their touchpoints, from hoarding and signage to stationery and presentation materials.
Strongly Positioned for Growth
The redefined brand identity and digital presence enabled Lydon to effectively communicate their strengths and heritage. With an online platform that mirrored their trusted reputation and ambitious outlook, they could better engage with new recruits and potential partners. This transformation not only helped Lydon overcome challenges in recruitment and tendering but also positioned them strongly for future growth.
What the client had to say
After nearly 50 years in the construction industry without a formal name, brand, or website, we knew it was time for a transformation. Partnering with the team at Idea was a game-changer for us. They took the time to really understand our business, getting to know our clients, suppliers, and employees. This level of insight allowed them to develop a brand identity that resonates with who we are and what we stand for.
Last week, we proudly launched our new website, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It not only reflects our legacy but also positions us for the future. The response from our clients and partners has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you, Idea, for helping us take this significant step forward. We’re excited about what lies ahead!
