The National Gallery of Ireland Wins an Eircom Spider 2011 Award!

IDEA designed the micro website for the National Gallery of Ireland for the Maclise painting, The Marriage of Strongbow and Aoife. The website has won an eircom Spider 2011 award in the ‘Charitable and Non-Profit Organisations’ category. The Spiders honour Irish individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievements online and celebrate the success of the Irish internet and digital media.

The judges said:
“This site is beautifully designed and marries logical navigation with strong pictorial elements”

The award was presented on 11th November in the Convention Centre, Dublin.

In addition to the Marriage of Strongbow and Aoife site, IDEA was also commissioned to produce a series of video documentaries following the conservation process which has been sponsored by Bank of America.  This project is ongoing.
