Bord Bia, in conjunction with the OPW, hosted Ireland’s first ever national independent drinks festival at Farmleigh House and gardens in the Phoenix Park, Dublin in September 2008.  It was a very successful event in 2008 with approximately 8,000 people attending over the two days. Ireland Vs England Cricket

Market Background  The Irish Cricket Team have grown in popularity over the past number of years with significant success at home and abroad.  Ireland V England in any sport is always of interest, but playing them at home in Stormount was an event that would be significant.  RSA had sponsored the Irish team and were title sponsors for this one day challenge. The National Gallery of Ireland approached IDEA looking for a web portal and series of films documenting the conservation of the Maclise painting, The Marriage of Strongbow and Aoife.  They wanted to highlight the importance of this particular work of art and the conservation departments role in ‘Saving a National Treasure’, they also wanted to communicate this process with stakeholders and members of the public. After extensive research into the market by Dulux it emerged that there was an opening in the market for a sophisticated, luxurious range of paint. For this premium range of paint Dulux required a new name, new brand and new packaging that would reflect its luxury status. We had to ensure that the brand and packaging positioned Moda as a premium, luxury brand creating a differentiation from the competition. The Irish population had a huge interest in Gardening and Garden Living, however, we had no major Gardening Festival Event.  In comparison, the UK had the most notable flower show in the world at Chelsea along with a number of world class garden show events engrained into the social Calendar each year such as Tonbridge, Malvern and BBC Gardeners World Live and Hampton Court.
